A Comprehensive Critique of Vaccines, Part 1 July 31, 2018 Dr. Thomas Cowan, author of "Vaccines, Autoimmunity, and the Changing Nature of Childhood Illness," offers a comprehensive critique of vaccines. According to Dr. Cowan, they’ve not conclusively been demonstrated to be effective, and even if they confer short-term protection, it’s at the cost of long-term deleterious consequences to the immune system. Additionally, the toxins they unnaturally introduce as adjuvants—aluminum, mercury, formaldehyde, polysorbate—cause indelible harm. The average child receives 69 immunization shots by age 18; Dr. Cowan distinguishes between natural and artificially acquired immunity; What are the diseases whose incidence has soared in the wake of widespread immunization? Why is there such passionate disagreement among vaccine advocates vs. “anti-vaxxers”? Is there a way to mitigate the harm caused by vaccines by taking them selectively or scheduling them differently? What about the argument that universal vaccination confers “herd immunity”? How are vaccine manufacturers shielded from liability for vaccine injuries? What’s wrong with the science that denies a connection between vaccines and autism? What about the campaign to get grandparents to seek booster shots to safeguard their grandkids? Click HERE for part 2.

Patient Empowerment, Part 1 July 24, 2018 Dr. William Davis, author of the best-seller “Wheat Belly,” argues for patient empowerment in a new book, “Undoctored: Why Healthcare Has Failed You and How You Can Become Smarter Than Your Doctor." Dr. Davis tells the story of his transformation from a successful interventional cardiologist to an outspoken critic of medical orthodoxy; Why does he urge people to eschew not only wheat, but all grain products? What’s wrong with gluten-free baked goods? Why take issue with mainstream nutritionists who urge “moderation”? What’s meant by “undoctoring”? Why has the term “healthcare” become an oxymoron? Why is cholesterol oversold as a predictor of heart risk? Can heart disease be managed without statins? Are coronary stents overdone? Dr. Davis highlights the benefits of a unique probiotic—lactobacillus reuteri—and offers a recipe for a gut-repleting yogurt that restores youthful appearance, strengthens bones, and combats muscle wasting. What role for dietary supplements? For exercise? Why follow Dr. Davis’ call to become an “unpatient”? Click HERE for part 2.

ENCORE: The Cannabis Cure, Part 1 July 19, 2018 The Cannabis Cure, a book by herbal expert Dr. Cass Ingram, is the subject of today’s podcast. It’s not about getting high, according to Dr. Ingram. Cannabis was first recorded as an herbal remedy in the writings of the Chinese emperor Shen Neng around 2,000 B.C. Today, researchers have been able to optimize its healing effects. Conditions found to be responsive to cannabinoid therapy include headaches and migraines, pain syndromes, glaucoma, insomnia, anxiety, fibromyalgia and delayed onset muscle soreness, colitis and Crohn’s, seizure disorders and neurodegenerative conditions like Parkinson’s Disease and MS. Dr.Ingram favors an herbal formula called “Hempinol” as an over-the-counter alternative to purified cannabidiol (CBD) extracts which may be too strong and are of questionable legality. Hemp oil can be taken sublingually or applied topically. How does it work? What is the “endocannabinoid” system? Does hemp oil make you drowsy, uncoordinated or stoned? Click HERE for part 2.
