Getting the Most from Intelligent Medicine

In case you haven’t noticed, radio is changing. A lot of familiar programs have been cut. But one constant remains–Intelligent Medicine, the longest-running physician-hosted health show on radio at over 30 years, continues on Saturdays from Noon-2:00 PM Eastern Time. If your local station doesn’t carry both hours, you can listen live via your computer or mobile device on the streaming player above. Of course, we’ll be there to field your health questions live, on the air, via our call-in number 1-877-726-8255  You can also leave a recorded message for me at DrHoffman.com – just look for the blue strip on the right side of the screen. And you can listen to the podcast of the show any time you like!

We’ve created a free Intelligent Medicine podcast—updated every weekday!—that thousands have now discovered and are regularly accessing.

And then there’s Facebook and Twitter.  If browsed for hours in an undisciplined fashion, these can be a huge time-suck.  But they can also be highly efficient vehicles for rapid-fire transmission of health information.

These days, instead of reading the paper, my days start with a quick scan of Facebook and Twitter. I can learn more in a few minutes of checking in with friends and followers than I used to in hours staining my fingers with old-fashioned newsprint.
